are you ever just reading a book and you come across word that you don’t know how to pronounce so you just go afkjhjdsfsjkdhs in your head
it’s even worse when while reading English I’ve pronounced some word in a certain way inside my head
and then later I find out that it’s actually pronounced completely differently.
Paul Revere, how are you supposed to pronounce Paul Revere?
It sounds like “Rev-ear” to my understanding
Also this happens to me all the time with silly words. Like “gauge.” I know how it’s pronounced, I hear it all the time, and I know what it means - but if I’m just skimming a page I fuck it up all the time
